Live Instructor-led Online Course
|Subject||:||EV Technology and Operations|
Electric Vehicles have no need for the engine and transmission. The two key components of EVs are: the motor and the battery. This course introduces EV technology and dives deep into battery management - covering the complex chemistry of metals (cobalt, lithium, nickel, etc), design, simulation, and analysis of parts of a battery system; protecting expensive battery cells from harsh conditions; and the design of charging and discharging architecture based on physical dynamics and control knobs.
This is an essential level course on EVs and their systems. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand vehicle dynamics, drivetrain system, battery management system and auxiliary systems. Key topics covered include:
● Introduction to Energy System and Batteries
● Materials Used in EV Batteries
● Battery Design and Manufacturing
● Packaging and Safety
● Charge and Discharge Architecture
● Battery Management System
