Bolted connections are part of mechanical assemblies and they are designed to hold the parts together. Designing bolted connections involves understanding the nature of the joint and picking the bolts appropriately. This requires the engineers to understand the mechanics of bolts, different nomenclature standards of bolted fasteners, and various evaluation techniques that are available. In this Ansys Innovation Course on “Overview of Bolted Connections”, we introduce these concepts and educate students on how simulations can be leveraged in designing bolted connections.
